Influences and Inspirations

There were many events that influenced and inspired Yoram Eliyahu throughout his life. These events helped shape his present dedication to his community.

One of Yoram's earliest inspirations came from Chabad, a large Jewish movement that provides outreach and educational activities for Jews. He first encountered them during his three-year term in the Israeli army. He was impressed with how they provided food and drinks to the soldiers of his unit during holidays and lifted their morale by singing and dancing.

At the age of 25, Yoram again encountered Chabad while visiting Crown Heights, Brooklyn where Rabbi Lubavitch Menachem Mendel Schneerson was providing his wine blessing ceremony that occurred three times a year.

Yoram personally met with Rabbi Schneerson and was inspired by his kindness and the experience left a powerfully positive impact on him. After his first attendance, Yoram returned for each and every wine ceremony conducted thereafter.

Yoram has since continued to be an active member and supporter of the Chabad movement. He and his family are members of the Kings Point Chabad where Yoram also worked hard to bring a famous Israeli Cantor. Furthermore, Yoram and his family consistently volunteer in Chabad of Flushing as well.
